Lucas Torres

Lucas Torres brings an internationally cultivated volleyball background and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of athletes to the Beach Box coaching staff. Originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Lucas honed his skills within the prestigious Minas Tênis Clube system — one of Brazil's most respected volleyball programs — before taking his game to the collegiate level in North America.

Lucas went on to compete at the highest levels of collegiate volleyball, with stops at Vancouver Island University in Canada, Brigham Young University, and the University of Charleston. His experience across multiple programs and countries gave him a uniquely well-rounded perspective on the game that he now brings to the sand.

Now expanding into beach volleyball, Lucas is training alongside Coach Pomp to develop a deep understanding of the outdoor game and apply his elite indoor background to help Beach Box athletes grow in all facets of the sport. In addition to coaching, Lucas is a certified indoor referee, giving him a comprehensive command of the game's rules, strategy, and officiating nuances.
