Pickleball Coach

I am living proof that you don't need to be a life-long athlete to play pickleball! I am admittedly not super athletic. While I enjoy hiking and camping, I also enjoy playing video games, reading sci-fi books, and watching TV and movies. When I was around 10 growing up in Gonzales, I played on the basketball team and my favorite (and only) job was to get in the way of the opponents. After that, my parents recommended that maybe I play an instrument instead. Throughout junior high and high school, I played the tuba and also performed as side characters in one-act plays. Since scoring one basket on a hook shot when I was 10, I haven't played any sports.
One day while at the dog park with my friend, we got challenged to play pickleball by some old ladies. I thought the game sounded stupid and was probably really easy since we were young and still had healthy knees. We got obliterated and I became obsessed with improving simply for the sake of a rematch. Since January of 2021, I have been obsessed with the sport and have improved slowly but surely. I now compete at a 4.5/5.0 level with many medals in 4.5 and many losses in 5.0. Most importantly, we did exact revenge on the old ladies from the dog park!
I look forward to passing all the knowledge I have onto you in hopes of you being able to create your own unique pickleball story! We all start from somewhere and while some of us may be retired Division 1 college athletes, we all have the same playing field when it comes to learning and improving in pickleball.
